Taking UEFA Champions League aside, there’s no question that struggle would be the word to describe Lazio’s 2020-21 campaign as the Biancocelesti are about to hit the midway point of their season.

Over the last few seasons, Lazio has always found themselves around the top four, fighting for Champions League positions. However, they currently find themselves in ninth place with 18 points this year (record of 5W-3D-4L).

Lazio has dropped 18 points this year. Three points in each of their losses to Atalanta, Sampdoria, Udinese and Hellas Verona, while losing two points in each of the matches to Inter, Juventus and Benevento.

Lazio understands that if they want to get back into the fight for the top-four Champions League, changes need to occur. According to Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Luis Alberto took the lead in the locker room during a meeting this past Thursday.

Not a lot of information came out of this meeting, but Alberto and the squads’ leaders discussed trying to find that winning spirit. It was an act that manager Simone Inzaghi appreciated as they try to move past this poor string of performances.
