Immobile’s Strike Against Napoli Puts Him Among Elite Goal Scorers in Europe’s Top-Five Leagues

Ciro Immobile is often forgotten as one of the elite strikers in European football, but the statistics don’t lie that the 30-year is among the elite at his position after his strike against Napoli. 

In 13 appearances, Immobile has scored 12 goals since October. Among players in the top-5 European Leagues, only Robert Lewandowski, Erling Braut Haaland, Mohamed Salah, and Cristiano Ronaldo have netted more, according to Opta Paolo

When it comes to Serie A, the Lazio striker has scored seven goals in ten appearances averaging 0.7 goals per game with a scoring frequency of 111 minutes, according to SofaScore.

Furthermore, when it comes to his overall numbers in the goal-scoring department, Immobile is recording 2.5 total shots per game domestically. Meanwhile, in the UEFA Champions League competition, it’s a similar statistic as the Italy international is averaging 2.3 total shots per game. 

However, his five goals in four fixtures display a higher goal per game statistic in 1.3 and a more frequent scoring rate of 65 minutes. Overall, Immobile is an elite striker even if the mainstream football media overlooks his production.
