Lazio forward Ciro Immobile has been in top form this season and Italian national team manager Roberto Mancini is taking note of his quality play as of late.
Immobile has picked off where he left off from last season when he claimed the prestigious 2019/2020 Golden Boot award. The Italian forward is simply continuing to score goals at a high rate. With 13 goals in all competitions so far this season, he is well on his way to yet another 30-goal campaign.
Mancini has been relatively pleased with Immobile’s recent form. He spoke about the Lazio star in comments relayed by the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi.
He is scoring incredible goals. I hope he keeps some for the European Championship. I tell him to rest assured. In Amsterdam, he played a great game even without a goal. Sooner or later, they will arrive, maybe all of them at the European Championship.
Immobile would have likely been among the players called up for Italy’s final EURO 2020 squad list had the tournament taken place earlier this year. But at this rate, he is aiming to be among the locks for the squad list when Mancini formally announces it next year.
