Former Lazio midfielder Matìas Almeyda discussed the Biancocelesti and which current player he would have enjoyed playing alongside in an interview on Agenzia Biancoceleste, Lazio’s official app. His words were collected by La Lazio Siamo Noi.

I still follow Lazio today, it’s a team that will always be in my heart. I’ll never forget the time I spent in Rome, with the incredible affection of the Biancocelesti fans.

The 47-year-old Argentinian then commented on which of the current squad he’d have liked to play with.

I would say Immobile, who has been scoring with impressive regularity for years.

Almeyda spent three years with Lazio from 1997 to 2000. In that time, he made 93 appearances across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing one assist in that time.

The former Argentina midfielder won many honours with the Biancocelesti, including a league title,  two Coppa Italia, a Supercoppa Italiana, a UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup and the UEFA Super Cup.
