Lazio has had a rollercoaster season. The Biancocelesti has had triumphs this season, such as with qualifying for the UEFA Champions League knockout stage and picking up a key win over Napoli. But with its current eighth-place standing in Serie A, there is cause for concern to some.
Former Italian forward Bernardo Corradi is not among those ringing the bells for concern. Corradi is viewing Lazio’s season so far from an optimistic standpoint and is lauding the club for achieving one of its goals. Corradi spoke in-depth about Lazio’s recent form in comments relayed by the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi.
I don’t even think Lazio is in a negative period. If you look at it, they are close to fourth place.
The real goal of the team is the Champions League and the income it brings. They passed the group after almost twenty years. In recent years they were a bit lacking in direct clashes, while today it seems to go the other way: better with the big ones, more difficulties with the small ones.
Lazio will be taking on FC Bayern Munich in the Champions League Round of 16 later this season. Simone Inzaghi’s side will be deemed as the underdogs in the tie, but he is sure to prepare his side to take on the best that the continent has to offer.
