Report: Lazio Coach Simone Inzaghi Has Rejected President Lotito’s First New Contract Offer

Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi has rejected president Claudio Lotito’s first new contract offer, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the 44-year-old Italian coach’s contract expires with the Biancocelesti at the end of the season, and Lotito knows that he has to tie the former striker down with a new contract soon, considering the interest in the coach.

The Lazio president is aware that it may prove difficult to reach an agreement once the season is well underway in the coming months, and so wants to reach an agreement with Inzaghi before the end of next month.

Inzaghi will meet again with Lotito in 10 days to discuss another offer, with the Lazio coach hoping for a bigger wage increase than the one offered.

Both parties are keen to continue their working relationship and it is likely that a deal will be reached.
