Ex-Coach Zaccheroni: “Lazio Could Have Won the Scudetto Without COVID-19”

Former Lazio and AC Milan coach Alberto Zaccheroni discussed tonight’s Serie A clash between the two teams in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today.

It’s difficult to recharge after what happened last season. They gave their best and they had the chance of a lifetime in front of them, they were so well launched that without the pandemic they could really have won the Scudetto.

He discussed three of Lazio’s main stars, Luis Alberto, Ciro Immobile and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Luis Alberto seems a bit moody but he has personality. He offers a valuable contribution to Immobile who is doing something inhuman. Scoring goals in Serie A is more difficult than elsewhere.

I would say that I’m still waiting for Milinkovic-Savic to explode, he has everything to be the best mezzala around, but he has to break through.

Finally, Zaccheroni spoke highly of Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi.

As a coach he is very involved, as a player he was more detached.
