Football Agent Dario Canovi Provides Insight on How Lazio May Approach the Winter Transfer Window

The winter transfer window is set to open next month with clubs across the continent having the opportunity to sign players on permanent transfer or loan deals. As usual, Lazio has been regularly linked with several players ahead of the winter window but at the moment, it remains unclear whether the club has a plan to add any talents for depth.

Football agent Dario Canovi is well familiar with the winter transfer window and how it is not as chaotic as with the summer window. And as it pertains to Lazio, he does not foresee the club making any significant moves but believes that Lazio’s club president Claudio Lotito and its sporting director in Igli Tare may not need to make any notable transfer deals. Canovi previewed Lazio’s winter window in comments relayed by the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi.

With Lotito, you need the usual glass ball to understand if he will return to the transfer market in January. Honestly, I don’t think he absolutely needs to do it, but operating on the winter transfer market is not easy. There are many teams that have a surplus of players; I think at Inter or the Gomez situation with Atalanta.

The problem is not the players, but the money. Tare is one of the few sporting directors who knows international football in a profound way. He made Lazio’s fortune in recent years.  Lazio has the ability to fish well.

As mentioned, it currently remains unclear whether Lazio has an aim at improving the team over the winter window, especially as it heads into the stretch run of the Serie A season.
