Italian journalist Mario Sconcerti discussed Lazio’s upcoming Serie A clash against AC Milan this evening in an interview with Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today.
For Milan and Inter, two difficult games against Verona and Lazio. Inter can win, Lazio instead can have any result.
Simone Inzaghi’s Lazio are currently 8th in the Serie A table after 13 games, sitting on 21 points, 10 behind league leaders AC Milan.
Stefano Pioli’s side are the only undefeated team left in Europe’s top five leagues, with the team still managing to perform well despite the absence of star forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
AC Milan were the last team to win the league title before Juventus’ period of dominance and will be hoping to bookend that period with another Scudetto.
A win for Lazio would see them join the list of teams currently behind the Milanese clubs. Napoli, Juventus and Roma are all tied with 24 points, although the Partenopei have played one less game.
They are playing the game now and around the 15 minute mark, the referee gave a (completely) fake penalty to AC Milan out of nowhere, almost. He was looking RIGHT at the guy, you can clearly see him in the camera footage… And then the VAR room confirmed what is not a penalty. We could see it for ourselves, in the slow motion footage. Not sure whether the players are enjoying the fixed game, or perhaps they’re used to it? Very strange.
