Report: Fenerbahçe Eyeing Winter Transfer Window Move for Lazio Defender

As 2021 approaches, so does the opening of the winter transfer window. When it comes to Lazio, they’ll look to strengthen areas on their squad ahead of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 matchups against FC Bayern Munich.

However, the Italian side will be looking to offload some players and finance any potential moves in January. One player that the Biancocelesti will be looking to move on from is Denis Vavro.

The 24-year-old doesn’t seem to be in the plans of manager Simone Inzaghi as he’s only made one appearance in the 2020-21 season. Since joining Lazio in the summer of 2019, Vavro has only made 18 appearances, which is why the Slovakia international is on the market.

A few weeks ago, Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) reported the interest from Bologna FC 1909 in Vavro. However, Bologna isn’t the lone club possibly monitoring Vavro’s situation. According to İstanbul based journalist Ahmet Konanç, Fenerbahçe SK is reportedly interested in the central defender.

Lazio paid €10.5-million to FC Copenhagen for Vavro, so it will be interesting to see if the Biancocelesti can get anything close to what they paid a year ago.
