Lazio and Fenerbahçe SK seem to have made a good connection over the sale of Vedat Muriqi this past summer. Ahead of the winter transfer window opening, the Turkish club is reportedly eyeing two players on the Italian side.
İstanbul based journalist Ahmet Konanç recently reported the Kanaryalar’s interest in Slovakia international defender Denis Vavro. However, they are also looking at veteran defender Ștefan Radu as a possible addition, La Lazio Siamo Noi reports.
The 34-year-old has featured in 11 Serie A fixtures and one appearance in the UEFA Champions League competition. Although Radu is in the twilight of his career, he’s still a significant piece for the Biancocelesti. His 11 appearances in Serie A have all been starts, and he is averaging 76 minutes per game, according to SofaScore.
Furthermore, Radu is looking to make history at Lazio as he’s currently third all-time in appearances for the club with 391. The Romanian international is 11 appearances away from passing Giuseppe Favalli (401) as the all-time leader in appearances.
As a result, there’s the sentimental value of keeping Radu around to see if he can break Favalli’s record considering his contract expires later in June.
