Lazio’s Ciro Immobile is off to another stout start in Serie A play. While he currently does not lead the league in goals, he has logged an impressive nine goals in 12 appearances this season, which leads the team. The former Golden Boot winner has provided for potent showings over the season so far with goals against Napoli and Torino.
Former Italian midfielder Antonio Di Gennaro is certainly taking note of Immobile’s play over the first half of the season. More so, he claims Immobile is the clear top striker so far this season.
In speaking to TMW Radio (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Di Gennaro was asked to give his best player at each position for the league season so far. And to not much surprise, he went with the Lazio star as his top forward.
I say Donnarumma (goalkeeper), Bastoni (defender), Barella (midfielder) and Immobile (forward). I go to the Italians.
Even with Lazio’s underwhelming start in league play this season, it should not underscore what Immobile has provided for over the campaign.
