Lazio manager Simone Inzaghi is currently in the midst of a rollercoaster season with the club. While his side was able to convincingly clinch a spot in the UEFA Champions League knockout stage, the Biancocelesti currently sits outside the top-four in the Serie A table.

Lazio’s up-and-down campaign so far has provided for a debate on whether Inzaghi should stay on with the club. Inzaghi is set to be a free agent at the end of the season, but Italian football analyst Riccardo Mancini is convinced that the club should offer the Italian manager a contract extension deal. Mancini made his case in comments relayed by the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Simao Noi.

As for the renewal of Inzaghi, my feelings are good. I have always seen a coach convinced of the project. He will stay if Lotito and Tare propose the right offer. He deserves it. He brought Lazio back to levels not seen in years.

The winter transfer window will open next month with clubs having the opportunity to sign players on permanent transfer or loan deals. For Mancini, he is pinpointing one need that he would like to see Lazio address over the window.

Lazio has accustomed us to a few moves in the January transfer market, but now they should do it. On the left Lulic continues to stay out, Marusic is adapted. Something is needed. Lazovic would be useful: he has a shot from outside, he knows how to fit in, he does both.

It will certainly be interesting to see whether Lazio has any plans to bring in players over the upcoming transfer window, especially as the club currently plays in two competitions this season.
