Lazio Captain Lulic Returns to Individual Training Tomorrow, Hopes to Be Fit for UCL Ro16

Lazio captain Senad Lulic will begin training individually tomorrow, with the aim being to return in time for the Champions League matches against Bayern Munich, according to a report from Rome based newspaper Il Tempo (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today.

The report details how the 34-year-old Bosnian wing back has finally started to recover from a serious ankle injury, that has required multiple surgeries in order to fully heal.

Lulic will begin training separately tomorrow and if all goes well, will increase his workload. The player hopes to be fit enough for the Champions League Round of 16 matches against the reigning European champions.

The first league is in Rome on the 23rd February, giving the Biancocelesti captain almost two full months to work on his recovery.

Lulic has dreamed of playing a match in the Champions League knockout stages with the Lazio captain’s armband on for years now, and it would be the icing on the cake of his career. He has never made an appearance in the competition.
