Lazio Forward Joaquin Correa at Risk of Missing Derby Against Roma Due to Injury

Lazio forward Joaquin Correa may not be available for the upcoming Derby della Capitale against Roma, according to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via LazioNews24) earlier today.

The report details how the 26-year-old Argentine forward, who is contracted to the Biancocelesti until 2024, may miss the clash against the Giallorossi on January 19th due to the injury suffered against AC Milan in the final game of 2020.

Correa had previously suffered from muscle issues that forced him to miss the 2-0 win over Napoli only three days before the match against the Rossoneri, and so coach Simone Inzaghi’s decision to risk deploying him again so soon has clearly backfired.

The 26-year-old Correa has made 17 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1265 minutes. In that time, he has scored three goals and provided three assists.

Roma are currently 3rd in Serie A, sitting six points ahead of the Biancocelesti.
