Lazio Not Looking to Send Vedat Muriqi Back to Fenerbahce on Loan Next Month

Lazio are not looking to send Kosovan forward Vedat Muriqi back to Fenerbahce next month on loan, according to a report from Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today.

The report details how the 26-year-old Kosovan forward has struggled to impress since arriving from the Turkish league in the summer, although he has not had an easy ride thus far.

Muriqi tested positive for Covid-19 ahead of the season opener against Cagliari, and then suffered muscle strain which saw him miss the next two games.

The 26-year-old suffered another muscle injury in November, but has since recovered, although he did not particularly impress against AC Milan before the Christmas break.

Rumours from Turkey suggest that Lazio are looking to send Muriqi back to Fenerbahce on loan next month, but this will not happen, as coach Simone Inzaghi and president Claudio Lotito both still believe in the player.

The Biancocelesti are prepared to give Muriqi time to acclimatise to a new league and adapt to Inzaghi’s system.
