Lazio linked left back Tommaso Augello has renewed his contract with Sampdoria, essentially ruling out a move away from the Ligurian capital next month, according to an official announcement by the Blucerchiati on Twitter.

The Biancocelesti are looking for a new left back to sign in next month’s transfer window, due to the injuries to both Mohamed Fares and Senad Lulic, which has limited the options that coach Simone Inzaghi has.

The 26-year-old Augello, who joined Sampdoria from Spezia in the summer transfer window, has impressed in the first half of the season, attracting the attention of Lazio.

Considering the interest in him, Sampdoria have decided to secure their player, with his new contract now expiring in 2025.

Augello has made 14 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1196 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal and provided one assist.
