Lazio defender Denis Vavro is close to a move to Genoa on loan in next month’s transfer window, according to a report from Italian media outlet GianlucaDiMarzio.com earlier today.
The report details how the 24-year-old Slovakian defender, who is contracted to the Biancocelesti until 2024, is set to move to the Rossoblu on a six-month loan deal with a €15 million buy option attached.
Vavro is expected to arrive in Genoa tomorrow, before undergoing medical exams on the 31st December. The January transfer window will open next week on Monday, the 4th January.
The 24-year-old defender has only made one appearance this season, for 31 minutes against Sampdoria in October.
Coach Simone Inzaghi has not been convinced by the player, who failed to impress in his 17 appearances last campaign, and his departure will help to free up the Roman club’s wage bill a little.
