Lazio is now being linked with Portuguese and Granada goalkeeper Rui Silva for a possible transfer deal over the winter window, according to a report from the Italian-based outlet CalcioMercato.
The La Liga goalkeeper is set to become a free agent at the end of the season. He has not yet come to terms on a contract extension agreement with Granada, thus, he will be able to speak with other clubs for a pre-contract agreement over the winter window.
The report notes that with Pepe Reina being in the last years of his football career, Lazio is scouring the market for his potential replacement. At the moment, the Biancocelesti is reportedly pushing to seek Silva’s salary conditions.
La Liga sides Sevilla and Real Betis are also showing preliminary interest in a possible transfer deal while AS Roma is also on the lookout due to its current goalkeeper dilemma.
Silva has made 21 appearances in all competitions, including five in the UEFA Europa League group stage. He helped the La Liga side qualify for the knockout stage of the competition thanks to his trio of clean sheets recorded over the group stage.
