Formello: Lazio’s Acerbi & Leiva Expected to Start Against Genoa This Weekend

Lazio’s Francesco Acerbi and Lucas Leiva are now expected to start against Genoa this weekend, confirming their availability in today’s training session in Formello, according to a report from Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today.

The report details how the Italian defender and Brazilian midfielder have now both recovered from their respective muscle injuries, and will be available to coach Simone Inzaghi for the first game of 2021 against the Rossoblu.

Marco Parolo, Joaquin Correa and Mohamed Fares were all absent again due to injury, with the Italian and Argentinian both hoping to be back in time for the derby against Roma next month, whilst the Algerian is more seriously injured.

Brazilian defender Luiz Felipe was not present in training today either, staying in the gym to work on his recovery.

Lazio are currently 8th in the Serie A table after 14 games, sitting on 21 points, five behind 4th place Sassuolo.

Their opponents Genoa are down in 18th, having only won twice in 14 matches.
