Lazio Forward Vedat Muriqi Likely to Start Against Genoa & Wants to Impress

Lazio forward Vedat Muriqi is likely to start against Genoa this weekend, as he looks to finally impress for the Biancocelesti, according to a report from Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today.

The report details how the 26-year-old Kosovan forward has had a rocky start to his life in Italy, suffering from Covid-19 immediately upon arrival.

The former Fenerbahce man then suffered from muscle strain which caused him to miss a further two games, leaving him with essentially zero preparation ahead of this campaign.

The Roman club spent €20 million on Muriqi and believe that he could be a strong partner to star forward Ciro Immobile, but so far he has not turned up with the goods, failing to score a single goal or provide an assist in his first 10 appearances.

The Kosovan forward is likely to start against Genoa this weekend, due to the injury to Joaquin Correa and the situation surrounding Ecuadorian forward Felipe Caicedo, meaning that he has the chance to impress straight out of the gate in 2021.
