Lazio sporting director Igli Tare is looking for a low-cost left-back for next month’s transfer window and has identified Serbian left-back Dimitrije Kamenovic as a possible target, according to Roman newspaper Il Messaggero (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today.
The report details how the Biancocelesti are still unsure if club captain Senad Lulic will recover from his ankle injury in time to join the squad for the second half of the season.
The 34-year-old Bosnian suffered a serious ankle injury in February and hasn’t made a single appearance since, although he is nearing a return after joining the squad for some exercises in training earlier this week.
In case he doesn’t recover in time, Lazio are looking for a low-cost replacement, with Kamenovic being a possible option.
The 20-year-old Serbian full-back is contracted to Serbian side FK Cukaricki until 2022, and his age means that he could be added to the Serie A squad registration list without taking up a spot.
