Video: Lazio Midfielder Luis Alberto Reflects on the Ups & Downs from 2020

Lazio midfielder Luis Alberto was arguably among the top performers for the club in 2020, but he did have his own fair share of downtimes.

On Instagram, the Spanish midfielder reflected on the rollercoaster year that he had in 2020. He had memorable moments with the club but as for many, it was a difficult year for him outside the pitch.

Alberto posted a video in which he took some time to look back on the year that was 2020.

From this difficult year I prefer to remember the good moments, the opportunities it brought me and what I learned. From a professional point of view, in 2020 I reached 150 matches with Lazio.

In September, I announced that I would stay at Lazio for some time after my renewal… We also managed to qualify for the Champions League and, twenty years later, we will play the round of 16.

On a personal level it was very difficult to spend a lot of time away from my family, but fortunately, we were able to make up for all the time lost in these months. They are with me always, in the most important moments. This year I also have discovered new hobbies, which I am improving little by little. I also realized that, after training for a long time alone at home, I appreciate much more time-sharing and laughter with teammates. So, Happy New Year everyone.

To 2021! My respects and condolences to the victims of Covid-19 and their families.
