Report: Lazio and Inzaghi on the Verge of Agreeing to a Two-Year Contract Extension

The extension discussions between Lazio president Claudio Lotito and manager Simone Inzaghi could be reaching their end, with both sides reportedly inching closer to an agreement.

Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) reports that the two parties will meet between January 7th and the 13th to try and finalize a deal.

In his press conference before Lazio’s match against Genoa CFC, Inzaghi revealed that he’s regularly communicating with the club’s executives as both would like to see an extension get done.

The Italian media outlet also reported (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) that the deal on the table for Inzaghi will see him earn €2.3 million with a €500 thousand UEFA Champions League bonus, which will be triggered whenever Lazio qualifies for Europe’s top competition moving forward.

When it comes to the contract’s length, the deal will give the Italian manager a two-year security blanket as it runs until the summer of 2023.

After months of negotiating, it seems as though there will be a happy ending with Inzaghi remaining with Lazio for the foreseeable future.
