“We Conceded a Goal That a Team Like Lazio Cannot Concede” – Inzaghi Discusses Draw to Genoa and Looks Ahead to Fiorentina

Lazio let like they were in control of the fixture against Genoa CFC as they controlled possession that ultimately helped them receive a penalty kick after the video assistant referee confirmed a foul inside the box on Sergej Milinković-Savić.

Ciro Immobile converted the penalty kick to give the Biancocelesti went up early with a 1-0 score, but they couldn’t add to their lead to try and secure the three points.

Genoa answered back in the second half as they scored on a counter-attack goal with Mattia Destro finishing off the play to level the match 1-1, and what would ultimately be the final score.

After the draw against Genoa, Lazio manager Simone Inzaghi spoke to the media where Piazza della Libertà relayed the Italian managers’ words. He didn’t offer much when it came to surrendering the tying goal.

Genoa approached the second half better than us. We conceded a goal that a team like Lazio cannot concede. We leave this match disappointed…

Despite dropping points, Inzaghi isn’t worried about the result against Genoa and is beginning to look ahead to Lazio’s next fixture, which is against ACF Fiorentina.

I’m disappointed, not worried. In the last three games, we have had excellent performances; but they should be accompanied by three points.

Now we will face Fiorentina, a very dangerous team. We have seen what they managed to do with Juve; we will have to have a good match to win.
