Lazio Sporting Director Tare: “We Haven’t Received Any Offers for Fiorentina Linked Caicedo”

Lazio sporting director Igli Tare discussed the situation surrounding Biancocelesti forward Felipe Caicedo in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) ahead of yesterday’s Serie A clash against Genoa.

We haven’t received any offers for him and that’s all I can say. But he’s done very well, he’s a Lazio player and deserves to be one.

The 32-year-old Caicedo, who is contracted to the Roman club until 2022, has made 17 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 663 minutes. In that time, he has scored five goals, including a vital late winner against Torino.

The Ecuadorian forward has been reportedly unhappy with his low amount of playing time this campaign, and argued with coach Simone Inzaghi after the 3-2 defeat to Lazio in the last game of 2020.

Caicedo has been heavily linked with a move to Cesare Prandelli’s Fiorentina, who are looking for a proven goal scorer to help them avoid relegation.

The Florence based club are currently 14th in the league after 15 games, only four points ahead of relegation candidates Spezia.
