Former Lazio Captain Wilson Details the One Major Need That the Club Must Address in the Winter Transfer Window

With Lazio’s sluggish start in Serie A play so far this season, many have turned to the winter transfer window this month as one route in which the club could improve the team.

For one, there have been calls for the club to go out and reinforce the backline, which former Lazio captain Giuseppe Wilson is in favor of. For Wilson, he believes that the team’s defensive struggles this season are a major concern and one that is holding the team back.

Wilson spoke about the team’s form this season and two transfer dilemmas that he would like to see address, with his comments relayed by the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi.

I don’t think it’s a problem of personality, otherwise, we wouldn’t have seen it even in the Champions League.

I would take a starting defender. There are too many goals conceded. Caicedo instead must stay.

It will be noteworthy on whether Lazio does go on to sign a defender or two over the winter window. The club has allowed 24 goals through 15 games so far this season, which is the most among sides in the top half of the league table.

It sure will be an interesting month for Lazio president Claudio Lotito and sporting director Igli Tare.
