Many predicted that Lazio would be able to mirror last season’s success in Serie A over to the ongoing campaign. The Binacocelsti was able to make a run to a top-four finish last season thanks to the career seasons from the likes of Ciro Immobile and Luis Alberto.

And while some players have been able to carry last season’s momentum over to this season, it has not been the case from a collective standpoint.

For one, former Lazio defender Massimo Piscedda was not pleased with the team’s showing against Genoa. While he is lauding the side for a strong opening 45 minutes, Piscedda is in need of seeing a complete performance from his former side.

The former Italian defender spoke about the result in comments relayed by the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi.

It seems to me that several players are in difficulty. The first half with Genoa was good, but you have to close the games. They deserved a draw for what it is. Since there is no audience there is not even a slight reaction from the players.

I do not see the stimulus of reaction that is needed in a match.  It may happen that you are exhausted, you do not have the desire and the itch you need to reach the goals.

Lazio is currently on back-to-back winless results in league play.
