Former Lazio Forward Giordano Analyzes the Club’s Chances at Making a Top-Four Run in Serie A This Season

Not many envisioned that Lazio would be at ninth place in the Serie A standings at this point in the campaign. But with a lackluster run of results coupled with its defensive miscues, the Biancocelesti is off to its worst start in league play in years.

Many are already counting out Lazio from possibly making a late top-four run in the league standings, but former Italian forward Bruno Giordano is not completely ruling out this scenario. However, he does see that it will be a difficult task for the club to begin to turn around its season with a quality run of positive results.

Giordano spoke about the club’s possible chances at making a top-four run in league play, with his comments relayed by the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi.

Immobile and his team-mates have a lot of teams in front of them that are doing well. And then, it doesn’t seem like last season’s team. There is some creaking in the environment.

It would be extraordinary if they were among the top four, but it will be very tough. The team has seen before. The lockdown made us dream; they wanted to play the title until the end with Juventus. Now, only four points more than Benevento is out of place.

For manager Simone Inzaghi, this possible turnaround will need to begin as soon as possible since other teams in the top half of the table are beginning to catch form at this point in the season.
