Lazio’s early Serie A struggles this season have plagued what was projected to be a special season for the side. For one, the Biancocelesti clinched a spot in the UEFA Champions League group stage and wound up punching its ticket to the knockout stage as well. But to some, Lazio’s league performances this season have overshadowed this accomplishment.

For former Lazio midfielder Giuliano Giannichedda, he is noting the side’s sluggish play and sees that this is not the same team that made a run to a top-four finish in league play last season.

More so, there is one small aspect that the former Italian midfielder is pointing out as well, which he elaborated a bit in comments relayed by the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi.

I don’t see the desire from the players to have fun like last year. A flat team that has nothing more to say.

With underperformances continuing to mount up over this season, Lazio is currently heading towards its worst campaign season in years.
