With the winter transfer window approaching, many players have already begun to be heavily rumored for a transfer departure this month.

For one, Lazio’s Felipe Caicedo is one player who has been a regular in the rumor mill as of late. The Ecuadorian forward has been linked with Serie A side Fiorentina for a possible transfer move. However, there have been no reports signaling serious transfer talks between the two sides for the forward.

Italian journalist Mario Sconcerti does see this potential signing as an ideal one for Fiorentina. He believes that Caicedo’s prowess as a forward can be of significant help for a Fiorentina side that is currently in the bottom half of the table.

Sconcerti made his case for this possible transfer move in comments relayed by the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi.

Is Caicedo the ideal solution for Viola? I think so. But I also understand that the player, at 32, wants a lot of money. It is true that nowadays he plays well even at an advanced age, and he is physically intact.

I think he is ideal to play with two strikers together with Vlahovic. Among the various solutions, it would truly be the best. Fiorentina cannot continue to play with five defenders and a second striker who doesn’t score, plus a striker who doesn’t get a ball.

It remains to be seen whether Fiorentina does go on to push ahead for this signing.
