Lazio veteran Stefan Radu discussed tomorrow’s Serie A clash against Fiorentina in an interview for tomorrow’s Match Programme. His words were noted by Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi.

First, he touched on how he made his debut for the Biancocelesti against the Florence based club.

I remember that day very well, I can’t forget it. I’d only been in Rome for three days and had done very little training with the team.

I’ll always remember my debut in the Biancoceleste shirt, and that day we also managed to win against Fiorentina at the Stadio Franchi.

The 34-year-old Romanian defender, who has been with Lazio since 2008, then touched on how he holds the record for the most appearances in Serie A for the Roman club.

For me, every game I play in the Lazio shirt is a source of pride. I’m happy to be, from tomorrow, the player with the most appearances in Serie A in Lazio’s history, but lately the results are not what we expect and so this record, for me, is not so important.

Finally, Radu commented on Lazio’s current situation in the league. The Roman club have only won one of their last five league outings, against Napoli before Christmas.

We are aware that we have to get out of this situation, it is very delicate. We’re ninth in the league, we’ll play tomorrow’s game against Fiorentina with blood in our eyes, we’ll have to have this kind of approach to the game.
