Lazio Linked With Possible Move for Arsenal’s Shkodran Mustafi, Italian Media Report

Lazio have been linked with a possible move for Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi, according to a report from Rome based newspaper Il Messaggero (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today.

The report details how the Biancocelesti are looking for a new defender or left wing back in this month’s transfer window, prepared to fill a possible empty spot in the squad registration list should Felipe Caicedo be sold to Fiorentina or Senad Lulic fail to recover from his ankle injury.

Among the names that have been linked with the Roman club is 28-year-old German defender Shkodran Mustafi, who is contracted to Premier League side Arsenal until the end of the season.

Lazio were previously linked with the 2014 World Cup winner in the summer transfer window, but a deal never materialised as they signed Wesley Hoedt on loan instead.

Mustafi has made nine appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 534 minutes. In that time, he has picked up two yellow cards and helped the side keep three clean sheets.
