Napoli are in pole position to sign Lazio linked midfielder Mattia Zaccagni, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today.
The report details how the 25-year-old Italian midfielder, who is contracted to Ivan Juric’s Hellas Verona until 2022, is one of the breakout stars of the season, with his strong performances helping the Gialloblu fight in the top half of the table so far this season.
Lazio and Roma have registered their interest in Zaccagni but now Gennaro Gattuso’s Napoli are in pole position to secure his signature, the report continues. The Partenopei and Gialloblu have good relations after the Amir Rrahmani deal last season.
Verona have set a €15 million price tag on Zaccagni and talks are currently ongoing. Napoli could look to jump ahead of their competition and secure his signature this month, leaving him on loan in Verona until the end of the season.
