There are not many must-win Serie A games at this point in the season. For Lazio in its fixture against Fiorentina, one could have certainly classified the match as one where the Biancocelesti needed to pick up the three points.
While the fixture itself was an arduous one for Lazio, Simone Inzaghi’s side got the job done with a 2-1 win to move up in the league table by one spot.
Former Lazio defender Massimo Piscedda was among the many that looked forward to the fixture. This result was not a flawless performance for Piscedda’s standards, but he notes that the side simply had to come away from the fixture with the win.
Piscedda spoke about the result for the Biancocelesti in comments relayed by the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi.
The goal was to win and Lazio succeeded, at least to get back on track. The match was not great, but the result was positive. I didn’t like the first 10-15 minutes in which the team waited too long. Fiorentina seemed to be able to play the game. At the first hint, the Biancocelesti struck and managed quite well.
Lazio has not had a league winning streak in quite a while, but the side will have an opportunity to clinch one with a victory over Parma.
