Lazio forward Ciro Immobile continued his top form in Serie A play with a goal against Fiorentina on matchday 16. This was the 11th league goal of his season and one that meant more than most of the goals that he has scored as this one turned out to be a game-winner for the side.
Immobile once again became a menace for Fiorentina as he extended his league goal-scoring streak against this side to five games. Out of these five games against Fiorentina, Lazio has gone on to win four of the fixtures with three of them being 2-1 final results.
This is not the only team that Immobile has scored in five straight league games against. As noted by Opta, the Italian forward has also scored in five consecutive fixtures against both Napoli and Udinese. This has only been done once before, which was accomplished by former Italian talent Alberto Gilardino.
5×3 – Ciro Immobile is just the second player to score in five matches in a row against three different sides in Serie A (v Fiorentina, Napoli and Udinese) in the three points for a win era, after Alberto Gilardino (v Cagliari, Lecce and Udinese). Routine.#LazioFiorentina pic.twitter.com/HTWm65VK1O
