Lazio Director De Cosmi: “We Lack Consistency Over 90 Minutes to Close Out Games”

Lazio technical director Roberto De Cosmi discussed yesterday’s important 2-1 win over Fiorentina and the Primavera squad in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster Lazio Style Radio (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today.

An important result for confidence and for the league table. Lazio initially let Fiorentina play and then at the first opportunity they were lethal. I’ve seen some good play, but we’re certainly lacking that consistency over 90 minutes to close out games.

I saw a Lazio that strongly wanted the three points and they got them. Fiorentina started strongly but I think Inzaghi’s team managed the game well. Luis Alberto is back to being among the best.

Lazio must continue to run and not stop, the next games are complicated and therefore they must be prepared in the best way.

What Lazio did before the lockdown was unique, to confirm that is the most complicated thing. Lazio are trying, they had a great Champions League group, it’s clear that in order to score points we need to play every single match in the best possible way.

De Cosmi then commented on the Primavera squad, who are currently third in the table, nine points behind leaders and rivals Roma.

We’ll soon start again with the Primavera team, the guys have suffered a lot in this situation, we hope to pick up where we left off.

The team is in good shape but we need to get back in touch with the pitch, even this season is very difficult. I expect Lazio to get back on the pitch and try to get a result against AC Milan.
