Serie A Confirms Yellow Cards Given to Lazio’s Escalante, Hoedt & Luiz Felipe

Serie A have published a statement regarding the refereeing decisions in the 16th game day, where three Lazio players were booked in the 2-1 win over Fiorentina.

The report details how Dutch defender Wesley Hoedt, Argentine midfielder Gonzalo Escalante and Brazilian defender Luiz Felipe were all given a yellow card in the win against the Viola.

Hoedt and Escalante, both receiving their fourth caution, were booked for unfair behaviour towards an opponent. It was Luiz Felipe’s second yellow card of the season.

Both the Dutchman and Argentinian at now at risk of being suspended, as another yellow card would force them to miss the following game.

Ivorian midfielder Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro has picked up the most yellow cards this season for Lazio with six, followed by Lucas Leiva who has earnt five.

The only red card so far this season for the Biancocelesti was given to Ciro Immobile in the 1-1 draw with Inter in October.
