Lazio appreciate the idea of signing a centre back in this month’s transfer window but first must sell a player, according to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today.
The report details how the Biancocelesti are confident that captain Senad Lulic will return to the squad over the next few weeks, removing the need to sign a left wing back, with Mohamed Fares also set to return.
As such, the Biancocelesti are coming around to the idea of signing a new defender, to help strengthen the club’s currently flimsy back line.
A player would need to be sold first in order to meet the liquidity index, with the main suspect being Slovakian Denis Vavro, whose move to Genoa earlier this week fell through due to a tear or strain in the soft tissue of his groin.
Lazio would also need to make space in the Serie A squad registration list, although they could also look to sign a player under the age of 22 in order to avoid this issue.
