Despite being under contract until 2023, Francesco Acerbi is ready to extend his contract and remain with Lazio for the remainder of his career.
According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, the 32-year-old is prepared to sign a contract extension that would allow him to stay with the Biancocelesti until 2025 or 2026. The report also states that Acerbi will see an increase in his annual salary, which will go from €1.8 million to €2.5 million plus bonuses.
Despite his age, the Lazio defender is a rock for the squad’s defending. He also doesn’t let age play a role in his form; he played all six UEFA Champions League group stage fixtures and played all 540 minutes.
Nonetheless, even if Acerbi can’t finish his contract, there’s no doubt that Lazio could put him in a different role, whether it’s coaching or management. Regardless, if this contract is signed, it will keep the Italy international for half of this decade with the Biancocelesti.
