Thomas Strakosha has had a difficult 2020-21 season as he first contracted the coronavirus in November, which caused him to miss four fixtures. Now it seems the 25-year-old has picked up an injury that could see him miss significant time.
Lazio sent out a press release stating Strakosha suffered a trauma to the rectus femoris of the right thigh in their 2-1 win over ACF Fiorentina. The club added that he will undergo treatment and be monitored over the coming days before finalizing how long he will be out.
The Biancocelesti have relied heavily on veteran goalkeeper Pepe Reina this season, but if Strakosha misses a significant amount of time, how much is too much for the 38-year-old?
Luckily for Lazio, the transfer window is open, so if Strakosha does miss time, they can evaluate the situation and perhaps acquire a goalkeeper on loan instead of exhausting Reina.
Lazio not only has their two fixtures against FC Bayern Munich on the horizon in the UEFA Champions League, but they’ll attempt to get back into the top four in Serie A.
