Ex-Coach Capello: “Lazio Are Alive but Roma Are Better Prepared for the Derby”

Former AC Milan and Roma coach Fabio Capello discussed the upcoming Derby della Capitale between Lazio and the Giallorossi in an interview earlier today. His words were collected by Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi.

Lazio are alive but they’re missing important players and that makes the difference. Roma are better prepared.

The Biancocelesti are currently 8th in Serie A after 17 games, sitting on 28 points, five behind 4th place Juventus. Paulo Fonseca’s Roma sit 3rd in the table with 34 points, six behind league leaders AC Milan.

Last season, both Rome derbies ended in 1-1 draws, with both teams having a more dominant performance.

The season before that, both teams found three points throughout the madness, with Lazio’s coming from a 3-0 win in March 2019, and Roma’s win coming in September 2018.

Both clubs have won three of their last five league games, drawing one and losing the other.
