Lazio defender Stefan Radu had a quality showing in the team’s Serie A fixture against Parma. Radu helped in keeping Parma off of the score sheet thanks to his four clearances, three tackles completed and two interceptions recorded. It was a fine performance for the long-time Biancocelesti talent.

More so, Radu made history during the fixture as he tied former Lazio captain Giuseppe Wilson for second on the club’s all-time appearances list with 394. This accounts for appearances in all competitions, which includes Serie A and UEFA Champions League play.

Wilson knew that Radu would soon tie him on this list and appreciates that a player like him was able to do so. The former Lazio captain provided his thoughts on Radu’s feat in speaking to the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi.

Seriously, the record exists to be broken. Glad it was Radu because he is one of ours and he certainly deserves this milestone. I console myself with the records of the derbies played and the Italian Cup matches. Congratulations to Radu.

Radu currently needs eight more appearances to become the club’s leader in category.
