Italian Journalist Cucchi: “The Derby Against Roma Will Be a Good Test for Lazio”

Italian journalist Riccardo Cucchi discussed Lazio’s impressive 2-0 win over Parma and the upcoming Derby della Capitale against Roma in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster Lazio Style Channel (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today.

Two victories that are encouraging for the league table and encouraging for the derby. They give the sensation that the team is getting back to the max that was shown in the past and this year that hasn’t been reached yet.

He spoke more in depth about the Roman side’s win over the Emilian club on the weekend.

Luis Alberto’s goal is a beautiful one, but above all the buildup was of a high level. Parma also fought back quite well, but Lazio created a lot of chances.

We’re still lacking a bit of brilliance compared to the team’s pre-Covid performances, but we’re getting closer. Yesterday a special mention for Lazzari, with his second consecutive assist.

And how can we not mention Caicedo, who scored his sixth goal in the league?

The Italian journalist then moved onto discussing the performance of Serbian midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Milinkovic’s game has to be interpreted and understood. His ability to choose the position and make the right choice makes him extraordinary.

He is less flashy than Luis Alberto, but he has an incredible tactical intelligence. They form a combination with a very high potential.

Finally, Cucchi looked ahead to this Friday’s Derby della Capitale against the Giallorossi.

The derby is always the derby. My wife is a Roma fan so on Friday we’ll all be in front of the TV wearing our scarves and whatever happens, happens.

This match is beautiful also for this reason and it’s a pity that there isn’t the public, with the choreography of the fans. Roma will be a good test for Lazio, because they’re a strong team.

Roma are currently 3rd in the Serie A table after 17 games, sitting on 34 points, six ahead of Simone Inzaghi’s Lazio, who sit 8th in the table.
