Lazio Defender Francesco Acerbi Fit Enough to Start Against Roma This Week

Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi is fit enough to start against Roma in the Derby della Capitale this week on Friday, according to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today.

The report details how the 32-year-old Italian centre back, who is contracted to the Biancocelesti until 2023, appeared to have a slight injury in the 2-0 win over Parma on the weekend, when he pulled up and clutched his leg after a sprint with Gervinho.

Coach Simone Inzaghi checked the former Sassuolo man’s condition and kept him on the pitch, knowing that the player’s appearance at the derby was not at risk.

Acerbi is in a good physical condition and will lead to the defense for Lazio against rivals Roma on Friday evening.

The 32-year-old Italian has made 20 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1738 minutes. In that time, he has provided two assists and helped the side keep three clean sheets.
