Lazio have joined a list of clubs interested in signing Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira, according to a report from Spanish media outlet AS earlier today.

The report details how the Biancocelesti, Fiorentina and Torino have all asked the Gunners for information about the 24-year-old Uruguayan midfielder, who is contracted to the North London side until 2023.

In addition to the three Italian Serie A sides, both Valencia and Sevilla are also interested in signing the former Sampdoria man, making the competition incredibly hot.

Torreira joined Atletico Madrid on a season-long loan deal in the hopes of finding more regular playing time, but he has hardly been utilized by coach Diego Simeone this campaign.

The 24-year-old has made 13 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 420 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal and provided one assist.

The Biancocelesti are considering Torreira as he could be a strong replacement for the ageing Lucas Leiva, who has not looked himself this season.
