Lazio have released an official statement confirming that the payments regarding the transfer of Portuguese forward Pedro Neto were correctly sent to Sporting Braga, despite the errors in the financial statements.
The Biancocelesti purchased Neto from Sporting Braga in August of 2017 on a loan deal with an obligation to buy attached. He spent two years with the club but failed to find a spot in the first team, making only five appearances for a total of 55 minutes.
In Lazio’s financial statements, the payments for Neto were listed as being sent to Sporting Lisbon, a different club in Portugal.
Today’s statement confirms that the payments were sent to the correct team, Sporting Braga, despite the error.
With regard to the news that appeared on some websites and in today’s press concerning the player Pedro Neto, S.S. Lazio clarifies that the financial transactions were carried out correctly, as provided for in the transfer agreements.
Contrary to what has been published, no payment has been destined to third parties (the club Sporting Lisbon), even if erroneously mentioned in the notes to the financial statements.
