Nearly 24 hours have passed since Lazio defeated AS Roma 3-0 the Derby della Capitale. However, the Biancocelesti continue to celebrate the win over their rival, including owner and president Claudio Lotito.

Lotito was one of the few people inside Stadio Olimpico, and the emotions of the win over Roma have yet to wear off. The Lazio owner and president sent out a press release that Corriere dello Sport relayed where Lotito shared his thoughts about the victory.

The team, the coach, and all the coaching staff were simply extraordinary. Yesterday was a perfect evening. Only one regret: not having been able to live it together with our fans at the stadium.

Unfortunately, the stadium closed due to the pandemic. But there will be time to recover. Lazio meanwhile continues to win: they are only waiting for their fans at the Olimpico to celebrate all together.

A win over Roma is always gratifying for Lazio supporters. Nonetheless, the Biancocelesti victory is significant as they need to start jumping over teams in front of them for a top-four position in Serie A. With Roma currently in third place, Lazio needed all three points, and they got them.

Lazio will begin a busy week as they face Parma Calcio in the Coppa Italia, followed by a league match against U.S. Sassuolo Calcio, a club that Lazio wants to remain ahead in the Serie A standings.
