Not many expected to see one side come out of the Rome Derby with a dominating win. But this is what unfolded as Lazio clinched a convincing 3-0 win over AS Roma to inch closer to a top-four standing in the Serie A table.
Former Italian defender Giuseppe Bergomi is very much impressed with Lazio’s performance in the Rome Derby. He notes that this was not just another win for the Biancocelesti in this derby but also one in which it simply controlled throughout the entirety of the fixture.
Bergomi spoke to Sky Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) about the result for Lazio and how it simply came away with such a statement victory.
Lazio dominated for all 90 minutes. They feel this game more than Roma, which had several rookies. It is not normal for the Giallorossi to face such an important match in that way. While the Lazio players have been there for years. They wanted to win it and prepared it better.
Lazio is now riding a three-match winning streak in league play for the first time this season. The Biancocelesti now has a realistic chance at jumping into the top four in the league table quite soon.
