Former Italian Forward Del Piero: “Lazio Have Improved in Recent Years”

Lazio clinched a monumental 3-0 win over AS Roma in the recent edition of the Rome Derby.

It was a fixture in which Roma simply could not breakthrough for multiple high percentage goal-scoring chances. On the other hand, the Biancocelesti took care of its chances, which included a pair of thunderous strikes from Luis Alberto.

Former Italian forward Alessandro Del Piero is much in appreciation for how Lazio stepped up to the calling in this Rome Derby duel. More so, he is also reflecting on the grand steps forward that the Biancocelesti has taken in recent years.

Del Piero spoke to the Sky Club (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) about Lazio’s win and improvements over the seasons.

So it is understandable that there are two mental attitudes that if you prepare the game well, then they prove themselves on the pitch. Then there are also the individual errors that address the result.

But there is one thing that should be underlined: Lazio have improved in recent years. It has always shown it can beat Juventus in a one-off match, and it also showed it in the Champions League.

One could certainly credit manager Simone Inzaghi for how Lazio’s has taken steps forward in its performances as of late. The Biancocelesti is back to being a regular contender for a top-four spot in Serie A.
